This is Ms. Shirley Armour standing in her kitchen at 630 Timberlake One Circle, Seneca.  She is 79 years old and suffers from Leukemia, Lymphoma and COPD.  Her monthly income is $700.00.  Her deceased husband was a veteran of the Air Force.

The problem is that her water heater leaked and ruined the floors in her kitchen to the point that they are disintegrating. You can see in the picture that her grandson has put down some plywood so she can walk without falling through.  We plan to tear out and replace the bad flooring without disrupting the existing cabinetry.  We will install a new sub-floor and floor covering in the kitchen only.

Thanks to the men of Zion UMC and Mike Williams, Emmanuel’s Hammer Board member, we were able to tear out and replace the kitchen sub-floor, replace the floor covering and trim in two days. When I suggested that she could square dance in the kitchen now, she said “I won’t be doing any dancing, but it sure will be nice to walk through without falling through!!”  She also expressed how thankful she was for everyone’s help, but most of all thanked God for sending us to help her.
