We feel strongly called to help Dominick, a fourteen year old who has Joubert Syndrome.  He is non-ambulatory, legally blind and cannot speak.  He can feel and hear.  He is living with his great uncle, who is disabled, in a single wide mobile home.  There are a total of 3 adults and 5 children living in this home.  Dominick goes to “school” during the week.  Until yesterday, they had no ramp so he had to be carried down the steps to the bus.

He is in diapers and currently has to be carried down a narrow hallway to a very small bathroom and placed in a small tub to be bathed. Our goal is to make his bath time more comfortable for him and his care givers.

We have partnered with The First Baptist Church in Iva, S C.  They replaced the existing deck which was completely rotted.  They also added a new wheel chair ramp.  Our job will be to enlarge two doorways going to the bathroom.  We will gut the entire bathroom and then install new sub-floors, flooring, sheet rock, a shower with a seat, the toilet and vanity.

We have scheduled this project for June 19-22.  Due to the confined nature of the project, we will only need 4-5 volunteers per day.  Please click the ” VOLUNTEER” button for this very worthwhile project.  Any time on either day will be appreciated.

The budget for this project is $2,800.00.  If you are unable to volunteer but would like to help with the funding, please click  the “DONATE” button to contribute.

In addition, we need a set of bunk beds.  If you or someone that you know has a set and would like to donate, please let us know.
